Hippocampal neurons are true multi-taskers: responsible for navigating the new place, learning a new language, remembering the smell of that amazing pastry on the corner of the street and so much more. I think neon green definitely suits them.

This artwork is derived from an immunohistology image of a mouse brain hippocampus section. Two components of synaptic signaling present in neurons are stained in this section: SNAP25 and synaptobrevin 2. Green and red gradients were applied to highlight SNAP25 and Synaptobrevin2, respectively. Cell nuclei were stained white with DAPI.
