Illustrator Notes

When creating the picture, I imagined a creepy scene from a horror movie. A person is fleeing through the dark, gloomy forest. Luckily, the moon is on their side, piercing through the dense trees, illuminating a path. A sudden sound, a fluttering - what was that..? But then, everything goes silent.

Scientific Notes

This artwork is derived from an immunocytochemistry image showing the cytoskeletal components of neurons and astrocytes, which were stained with MAP2 and GFAP antibodies, respectively. The membranes of the astrocytes and the cell nuclei were stained using an ATP1A2 antibody and DAPI, respectively. These labeled components were then merged into a yellow-grey gradient.
